Printed Apparel: Frequently Asked Questions

For most apparel, we use DTF (Direct to Film) printing because it delivers exceptional detail and unlimited colour options. This allows us to print full-colour graphics, gradients and fine details without extra colour charges. For larger single-colour orders, we may recommend screen-printed plastisol transfers for the best value.

DTF printing is ideal for full-colour artwork, detailed logos and small or medium quantities. It prints beautifully on dark fabric and offers outstanding durability.

Screen-printed plastisol transfers are best for high-volume orders with single or limited colours, offering excellent long-term value and a classic printed look.

To keep your prints looking their best:

  • Wash inside-out on a gentle cycle using cool water and mild detergent
  • Avoid bleach or fabric softeners
  • Tumble dry inside-out on low heat or hang dry
  • If ironing is required, lightly steam or iron inside out, never on top of the print

Proper care helps maintain print vibrancy and extend garment life.

Most printed apparel items do have minimum order sizes. Please contact us for specific details.

Custom Engraving: Frequently Asked Questions

We use multiple commercial CO₂ lasers and a state-of-the-art 3D UV engraving laser for premium glass, drinkware and fine detail work. Our UV engraving produces precise, chip-free, ultra-clean marks that outperform traditional CO₂ engraving.

No. Laser engraving is permanent because it removes material rather than applying ink. Engraving will not peel or wash away. Some materials (like leather) may change slightly with age and natural wear.

Laser engraving creates a monochrome effect because it etches material rather than colouring it. We do not offer multi-colour engraving, however, for full-colour designs on apparel or hats, see our apparel printing and hat printing services. 

We have no minimums for engraved tumblers.
Other items may have minimum quantities depending on style. Contact us for details.

Yes. Lime Tree is a proudly Canadian-owned business located just outside Saskatoon, SK. We source Canadian-made products whenever possible, and work with Canadian suppliers for both domestic and international manufacturing.

We do not accept client-supplied items for engraving or printing.
This ensures:

  • Product safety
  • Material compatibility
  • Consistent engraving results
  • No risk of damaging sentimental or irreplaceable items

All orders must be paid in full before production begins.

Artwork Requirements: Frequently Asked Questions

Raster artwork must be:

  • Supplied in sRGB
  • Full print size at 300dpi
  • With a transparent background
  • In .png or .psd format

For best results, knockout base colours and ensure no partial-transparency.
If your artwork needs fixing, we can assist (art fees may apply).

Logos must be provided in pure black and white, without gradients or shading.
Accepted formats: .svg, .ai, .eps

All strokes and text must be outlined before sending.
